Country Diary of a Lady: 01/04/2014

When I said that it had turned bitterly cold, but I take that back.  Tonight it is supposed to drop to a low of -18, and I doubt that includes the wind chill factor.  Tomorrow it is supposed to be incredibly cold.  So much so that I am beginning to dread the short walk across the parking lot tomorrow morning at around 6:45 am.

The days of this new year have already begun to race past.  I had already lost count and had to check the date today with someone.  I have hung my new calendar for the year on my wall.   I was so excited when I stumbled across the Edith B. Holden calendar at Barnes and Noble.  This artist that inspired me to begin this journey through the seasons, and here was a calendar of her art work.

And so, this new year begins with a busy, busy week or so.  Winter Family Camps 1 & 2, a day to breathe and then RBC retreat that next weekend.  But it is fun too.  Meeting people again, seeing the reddened cheeks and the happy smiles.  This reminds me over and over again why I love what I do.  Yes there are days when I don’t do achieve my best, but I always try to do my best.  Because, they deserve nothing less.  And I deserve nothing less, as well.
